Amazing experience - Michelle Majiet

I sent this email to (Info@rhinolion.co.za on the 2nd of April. To Whom it may concern. I booked to go on a two-hour game drive at 15h00 on Saturday 30 March and a one hour cat drive on the 31st, as a treat for my wife on our 50th wedding anniversary. I was so disgusted on the game drive on the 30th, that we never bothered going on the cat drive the Sunday, We could not hear the lady guide when she was trying to address us without a microphone because of the noise on the truck. There was drinking of alcohol on the truck that was spilled all over the seats and floor. We spent one and a quarter hour in the cat enclosure, not allowing any time to see the Rhino's as we were rushed to get to the drop off point so the next group could be loaded. "Very Disappointed". We were unable to see the animals as the passengers were allowed to stand up, blocking site to the animals. I will most definitely not recommend these unpleasant "game" drives should I be asked. FIRST AND LAST, NEVER AGAIN. Regards Mike Maudlin Cell 083 401 5334 Email mike@lprgroup.co.za - Mike Maudlin

I grew up not far from here and I've been here plenty of times before but never been on a game drive, I moved over seas a few years ago and brought my partner from Australia with me this time. The game drive was an absolute blast. Would definitely recommend to anyone. - Vasti Botha

It was a great experience to see some of the animals up close. The guide was extremely nice and kept everyone engaged with information. My family enjoyed the time and it was a different experience. However i feel the price of guided game drive is not value for money considering the animals and time spent. - Asaad Faruqui

My review is that we absolutely enjoyed ourself..your guide that drove us around is well knowledgeable and friendly.we enjoyed getting up close to the animals. Definitely a 10 out of 10..recommended to famiky as well who drove out to JHB this past weekend just for a visit to your and the kids loved the self game drive. - Minesh Balwan

Activity Description

History of the Bothongo Wonder Cave:

The cave was discovered by Italian miners in 1898. They mined out approximately 15% from the formation and brought them to the surface. The formation consists of calcite which they placed in a self-built oven for 2 weeks at about 1100 degrees. This formed a powder which was taken by ox wagon to Pretoria & Johannesburg to make cement, toothpaste, use to extract gold, and the like. Mining was stopped in 1902 due to the outbreak of war and low productivity.
This is the 3rd largest chamber in South Africa, the largest being Cango Caves and the second largest Sudwala Caves.
